International Day of Yoga

Yoga is the journey of the self, through the self, to the self.”
– The Bhagavad Gita.
The idea of International Day of Yoga was first proposed by the current Prime Minister of India, Mr. Narendra Modi during his speech at the UNGA, on 27 September 2014. It’s a global phenomenon now and it’s a matter of pride when we see the world emulating us.
5th International Yoga Day was celebrated zealously at Amara Jyothi Public School. Students of Grade I to XII demonstrated various Asanas followed by Omkar chanting. Warm up exercises were done and all the students performed sitting and standing Asanas with ease and enthusiasm. The benefits of these asanas when explained, cleared a lot of inhibitions. The celebration concluded with synchronized recitation of Shlokas and speech by our Principal. She encouraged students to practice regular yoga to remain fit and improve concentration.
Regular practice of yoga will surely help our students achieve a better life, physically, mentally and spiritually as well.
